Before Americana or Texas Country, Two Tons of Steel front man Kevin Geil and his original band, “Dead Crickets,” pioneered a country-punk blend that redefined the “Texas” sound. Packing San Antonio bars, they became the city’s favorite band, even landing a Billboard cover, kicking off a 20-year journey.
